Care2x is still rated highly among HMIS .
I believe the project is very much alive in some regions. The ones that
feel the project is dead is because support for their localized versions is
very little.
One of the challenges I see is that the localized versions differ too much
from the mainline version.
I believe that in some areas ALL modules are used including inpatient ,
billing , stock , and imaging , while elsewhere care2x is just used as an
EMR only. The version I support is one example that has the mentioned
modules working.
We should look at ways of making the versions somewhat similar , and then
having options to change setup based on the setup of your country.
Right now , even the classes differ very much.
Having an open source software that fits exactly in your setup without any
customization is something that almost impossible. Even commercial ones
need customization of some sort.
