Hi be sure gettext is installed and the locales configured correctly http://www.cartoweb.org/doc_head/docbook/xhtml/user.i18n.html and especialy http://www.cartoweb.org/doc_head/docbook/xhtml/user.i18n.html#user.i18n.translations.debug also be sure the language setting in your client.ini are correctly set to define "it" as default language. the language selection also depend of the setting in the browser. If people have defined english with higher level than italian in their browser settings, this will be taken into account by cartoweb to choose which language to display.
