Hi Cartoweb only support UTF-8 and ISO-8859-1 by default. To implement other encoding, see http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/cartoweb-users/2008-April/003504.html especially the comment under "This is optional:" You may have problems with the exportPdf too as it only support common fonts.
