+1 log4net I just glanced at NLog, and the primary difference appears to be configuration. I'm not for learning any new XML unless there's a compelling reason. The XML configuration for log4net would be immediately familiar to anyone that has used log4j. Of course we could avoid additional dependencies and use the .NET trace capability, but I've always found it more conceptually difficult to use.
