Scott, You raise some interesting points and make some good suggestions. I think I'm going to experiment and investigate some before commenting further. But my main goals are simplicity of the codebase and integration with IIS7 via managed ISAPI plugin. I think some of the benefits you mentioned like code access security, authorization, and support for authentication controls would be beneficial but supplementary. In any case I want to test some things out and read more before going further in support of one strategy versus another.
