Also, since we're in the spirit of compromising, we should start talking
about hashing out beyond 3.5 There's a number of soon-to-be-needed API
changes that we need to start working on :-)
Was just thinking about that this morning. The API changes that I have
committed to (authentication, storage backends) are already on the
roadmap for 4.0, which is listed as the next release. I am motivated to
include those needed and valuable features in the next release, whatever
it's called, though I see no reason to call it anything other than 4.0
due to the planned scope. I encourage everyone to review the roadmap
for the versions after 3.5 and commit to features.
