Actually, becoming a committer works in the reverse. You write some code, document some things, become active in the community and we grow to appreciate you and your contributions such that becoming a committer happens naturally.
but don't know if it's something wanted in CAS), implement the smart openid protocol, which is preferred to the dumb mode (and saves a request :) ).
I encourage you to do it. I can't imagine we wouldn't welcome a contribution for an improvement to a feature we already support.
