For what its worth, I also love to see collaboration wherever possible in
order to reduce confusion for end users and to see the best product
produced.

It seems you both recognize there are existing deficiencies  and also are
hoping to provide the architecture/code.  Seems like a grand opportunity to
leverage each other.
