Yes, exactly. Since there are two pools, one for searching and another for binding, the search is always performed with the same context (anonymous in my tests) and the the bind context is always that of the authenticating user by the time it gets to the directory. Thus it's impossible to perform a search with the "wrong" authenticated context and see more than you're entitled to.
