Hi, I'm proud to announce the official release of the CAS server 4.0.0.
I know it has been a long time since we started it and many of you were expecting it strongly. We have worked hard on it and I'd like to thank all the contributors. It's a major version with a lot of changes / bug fixes / improvments. You can find the full list on JIRA: https://issues.jasig.org/browse/CAS-1448?jql=project%20%3D%20CAS%20AND%20fixVersion%20in%20(4.0%2C%20%224.0%20RC1%22%2C%20%224.0%20RC2%22%2C%20%224.0%20RC3%22%2C%20%224.0%20RC4%22) I'm certainly forgetting things, but I'd like to highlight: - the CAS server is lighter: around 23M (instead of 33M) with many optional modules (SAML, OpenID...) - the CAS management webapp is a separated web application - the internals of CAS have been refactored to support multi-factor authentications - a front-channel logout is available as an experimental feature - a new XML endpoint returns user attributes (/p3/serviceValidate, /p3/proxyValidate) - security reinforcements have been made (if no service, allowedToProxy disabled by default...) ... The protocol spec has been updated accordingly (v3.0) and a new documentation is available on Github: http://jasig.github.io/cas/current/index.html (in preference to the "old" wiki: https://wiki.jasig.org/display/CASUM/Home).
