You will need the cooperation of the external application
administrator(s) to CAS-enable the application. We have an example of
this in our environment where we partner with an external vendor that
provides a hosted purchasing application. The 3rd-party application
authenticates via CAS at our University. In our case the vendor got the
contract based on their willingness to integrate with CAS. Hopefully
you have some leverage to encourage the the external application
provider to work with you to CAS-enable the application.

Hope that helps. In the future you might find a wider and more
appropriate audience for this sort of question on the CAS list -- it's
better suited to "How do I ..." sorts of questions.
