My guess is the CASTGC cookie containing your TGT is not being forwarded to the CAS servers through your content switch. You could easily confirm this hypothesis by enabling the Tomcat RequestDumperFilter (see http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/config/valve.html) to dump the full request headers/payload on the server side.
