I would like to invite any JAAS experts or users with JAAS use cases, particularly JEE use cases, to review the implementation attached to http://www.ja-sig.org/issues/browse/CASC-108. I think it's solid, but there may be considerations for other environments/containers that we are unaware of. We have tested our target JEE webapp on JBoss AS 5.1 and verified it works with this implementation as designed, but we believe it would work on 4.2.x versions as well. It should also be a sound platform on which we could develop other JEE container support, e.g. WebSphere, if there is interest/need.
I'm hopeful that if this implementation looks good, it will make the 3.1.11 Java client release.
