Hi, I've completely new to LDAP and CAS, but is it possible to authenticate users based on both the username and password combination?
My problem is this. I have multiple applications and would like them to single sign on and have a single place to manage user identity. Unfortunately these all have their own authentication system which has resulted in some different people registering on the sites using the same username. Fortunately, these have different passwords so they could possibly be identified based on their username/password combination? I'm open to suggestions on this since this seems a bit wiggy. The way I'm thinking it would work could be if CAS would query the LDAP directory based on a username/password combo and return something globally unique as the uid. This uid could then be mapped to a specific user in the application in question. How do you think this would be best handled?
