[cas-user] Life of the TGT cookie?

I seem to be confused on the cas/logout function, because it doesn't seem to be working for our installation. Right now when a user hits cas/logout they are getting an on screen message that their logout was successful but in truth they still have a CASTGC cookie and the TGT in the cookie is still valid. Have I broken something? Shouldn't logout expire the user's cookie and/or invalidate the TGT in the ticket registry?
