CASifying non-web applications

Very soon I will be embarking in a project to build a SSO solution based on CAS that will try to customize the system to include SSO for Lotus Notes, OpenConnect and Citrix. These are all non-web applications and we will be trying to make then work with CAS.

Does anyone in the list has some experience CASifying these hard-coded applications? Could someone give me some suggestions on where to start.
