Hi Katherine,

In your email you say you installed Matlab R2009b and Xilinx 13.1. These 
versions are not compatible according to Xilinx: 
http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/17966.htm. You should either 
downgrade to Xilinx 11.5 or upgrade to Matlab R2010b.
