Hi, David,

Which mlib_devel version are you using?  The adc16 init script had a bug prior 
to commit 286bca5 where the adc16 yellow block had to be at the top level of 
the model file (i.e. it could not live in a subsystem).  Commit 286bca5 from 
June 24, 2013 fixed that bug.  Based on the error error message, it seems like 
this may not be your problem, but just in case.

Another commit that might be relevant is 9f40576.  If the bug fixed in that 
commit is causing your problem, you could try changing a parameter in the mask 
dialog, click OK, then change the parameter back to the original value.  This 
will force a redraw of the block, which will rename the ports.
