Hi Alex, 

        If your Xport ‘somewhat’ works then I’d advise that you use it at least 
this once to set your ROACH to auto power-on mode using Jason’s instructions 
below (you should never need to touch it again, I believe). At one point, I 
needed auto-poweron on a ROACH that had a completely dead Xport ( I couldn’t 
even get access to the Actel Fusion). We ended up using an Arduino board to 
digitally control the voltage across the two pins on the board that control the 
power. It wasn’t too difficult for us because we were already using the Arduino 
board for something else at the time and had some extra pins to spare for this. 
This may be a bit out of your way if you just needed this functionality 
alone…but it works nonetheless. :)


P.S. Before reading Jason’s email didn’t know that once you set the auto-on 
feature using the Actel the board can still be unreliable.
