Hi CASPERites, A few years ago I set up Real-Time Radio Systems Ltd <http://realtimeradio.co.uk> -- a DSP consulting company doing CASPERy, FPGAy things in the fields of radio astronomy and RADAR. I'm finding that there is more work to do than I have time for, and am now looking for someone with FPGA DSP (and preferable CASPER/Simulink) experience to help with the ever-growing number of projects with which I find myself entangled.
Ideally, I'm looking to employ someone in the UK working remotely on a ~full time (meaning 4 days / week, naturally) year-long contract with Real-Time Radio, but I'm also open to working with freelancers paid via hourly or short-term fixed price contracts, or other creative arrangements involving part time employment. The ideal candidate would probably have at least 3 years of experience with designing FPGA DSP designs, either as a student or engineer in a professional setting. Skill sets augmenting FPGA design -- thermal / mechanical engineering experience, control software development, network configuration, etc -- are of course also of great value. Real-Time Radio is small -- a new hire would be employee number 3, including myself(!) -- so there is a lot of scope to shape the job (role, working conditions, salary, incentives, etc) to suit the candidate. Currently projects involve everything from well-bounded "take this SNAP design, make it work on platform X" tasks, to more open design work like "define a hardware spec for a vendor to build, then implement a RADAR processor on it". How a new hire fits in will depend a lot on their skills. If anyone is interested, drop me an email at j...@realtimeradio.co.uk (and fight the urge to accidentally reply-all to this email).
