Thanks for the response Joel!

I've tried several port numbers, including the one you suggested. I'm pretty
sure they're not in use, at least I didn't see them in 'netstat.'

HOWEVER!

I went ahead and tried to use Cassandra with the example here:
http://wiki.apache.org/cassandra/CassandraCli and it seems to work just
fine.

So I guess, maybe I should just ignore the error?
