So what exactly are you after? Yes, the facility will not have any new releases, but to be honest, there hasn't been much changes in it since… forever.
Also, ignoring XML support, the facility is a couple hundred lines of fairly simple code, so even if it's not "officially" going to be supported if you want to, you should be able to fairly easily pick it up and do whatever you need with it.
