I checked in the fix for this problem. The bug report can be viewed here:

You'll need to compile the code from CVS if you want to make use of
the fix.
I'm going to continue my attempt to acquire a list of SAP DB supported
functions in order to expand this quoting fix to encompass all supported
functions. Please nofify me if you locate any additional info on this
topic. Thanks for you assistance in solving this bug.
