Well, Rudy, here in Rockford, IL, I have dry bilges (temporarily) for several reasons--first, I'm on the hard (well, on my trailer). Second, I installed temporary covers for my leaky chainplate fittings by putting a removable window sealant on the rims of aluminum cans and setting them upside down on my hull, then putting bricks over them to keep them anchored in the winds. These will stay on until warm weather when I will properly re-bed all my deck hardware. But mainly, it's because it's so cold out and frozen water doesn't drip down to the bilge :(.

PS, I include my location because someone once asked us to, a good idea, thinks myself, now finding out that youse guys are All over the place, I mean Michgan, Maine, Oregon, etc. I wish people would include this info since it makes me feel, well, wider spread, though I don't know if I'm going to talk to aany one with dry bilges, hmph......
