A few years ago I ran across a guy who built a duplicate of Spray.  I think he was in Little Deer or Deer Isle in Maine.  The boat is interesting.  The difficulty I had with his boat was that he put a rather large Ford engine in it that took up an incredible amount of room below.  There wasn't a lot of room to begin with.  Anyway all hail Joshua Slocum!  He showed us the way!

He did restore the Spray.  In reading his account of sailing around the world I was amazed at all the work he did while anchored in some port.  Taking down the mast and shortening it....adding a mizen and making the sloop more of a yawl...shortening the booms...sewing new sails...I wish I could do as much work while the Celtic Pride is in her cradle.  But alas, a lack of time and talent...a greater lack of the latter...prevent me.
