Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
I think in honor of Patrick we should create an Irish blessing. So as a beginning...
"May there always be a gentle breeze to filll your sails...
I've always liked the old Scot's fisherman's prayer:
"Round my skiff be Thy aboutness"
It should be noted that St. Patrick would have been quite
familiar with the sailing of small vessels, as were most of the Celtic
Saints. They were fantastic sailors.
There's an old Celtic hymn that captures their ventureing spirit
well, it starts
I feel the winds of God today; today my
sail I lift,
Though heavy, oft with drenching spray, and torn with many a rift;
If hope but light the water's crest, and Christ my bark will use,
