Hi Ray, I have used the fiberglass exhaust tape (and it might even have been called header tape) on my exhaust piping. It does a pretty good job. For my hot hot exhaust though I also obtained some steam pipe wrap and put that on the exhaust as well.
I have also converted over my Atomic 4 (Raw water cooled) to Fresh water cooling. I did it as I had planned to keep the boat, and many A4's die the death of rusting from the inside out, so I did it to halt any further internal rusting of the water jacket in the engine. I bought the Indigo kit but the Moyer kit I have heard also has good reviews. Its about $500 for the kit, and a extra $100 for the hoses. I did the conversion in a day.
