Subject: catalina27-talk: Boat Insurance

Wow!

So, I got this letter in the mail from BoatUS (West, EE, whatever)

The thing was a solicitation for boat insurance. I figure, what the heck, I'll get a quote from their on line site. So...

On a 27 foot, 1986 Catalina. $300k liability, $15k agreed value. NO trailer or personal belongings coverage. $1k for medical payments. $270 deductible and a token $500k for fuel spills. In Massachusetts.

They want $729 a year. WITH a C&V (read $300+) the first year.

My current coverage is about $350, for the same specs. Hmmmm... let me think a moment.
