I have read that some of the new inflatable's have to be submerged about 2-4" in water before they will inflate.  Very unlikely that rain or humidity will set them off.

The question I have is "what is the number one reason people go over board on a sailboat?"  I know the number one (and no pun here) reason powerboaters go over.
