Tim,

I think the "E" dimension is pretty close to specs. I fully understand what
you are saying about reduced sail area. The boat (or me) really struggles
in light air which a better main would help. This main is a 2001 fully
battened main which came with the boat and whoever made it wasn't proud
enough to put a name on it. It's in great shape except for the P dimension
and would last as long as I will. I would prefer a main with one or two
full battens and the remainder short. There is a C27 main on Ebay which is
new but 1' 5" short in the P dimension.

I was 4th out of 10 in the 2nd Wed series last year close behind a Hunter
26.5 that we were giving time to. However, there were really only 5 boats
in serious competition. They put me and two Hunters in Jam A with two 33
footers whose phrf's were in the 130's. Realisitly, we had two match races
going on, the two 33's and me and the Hunters.

I bitched, moaned and whined enough to get back into Jam B this season with
a lot of boats in the same phrf range (200 +). So, we'll see if it is me or
the boat.

I would love to go to inboard leads on the coaming but that would lead to
another whole list problems.

Thanks very much,

John Emmerich
