Hi Bob and Harvey,
I'm in Forked River State Marina; the last 2 years as a C27 owner, and 5 previous when I had a C22. Come to think of it, I'm sure I've seen/admired yours, Bob, I'll be sure to look next time, either on the bay or my trek to/ from the slip.
Trivia to the "old timers" on this list, Wayne Simpson has kept his boat just a few slips away from mine for the past few years. Quiet, but talk about a wealth of C27 info.
Barnagat Bay does has a lot to offer; it's worth my 1.5+ hr weekend commute for "cheap" waterfront property and an ambience I hope stays, in spite of the McMansions starting to appear.
Harvey, I did replace the old pump this weekend, its running beautifully now. I am going to see if it can be rebuilt though as a spare; for some reason, the price has gone up $100 since I
bought it a week ago. Ouch. With that in mind, I had second thoughts about keeping it as a doorstop. If it can't be rebuilt, I'll be happy to "donate" for a good cause. I should know by the end of the month.
Unfortunately, I'll not be in the water for another 2 weeks, the pump issue sidelined my expected launch and I have to coordinate schedules for a 6+ hour delivery time from where she winters (I'm changing to FR this fall). I'll just attack more boat projects and sail with friends in the meantime.
Hope to see you both out on the bay soon! Or feel free to stop by once I'm in.

Hi Bob,
My son keeps his 31ft "non-catalina" (ugh) sailboat in Sunset Harbor just north of Forked River. But he is very enthused about sailing. I helped him out on maintenance this Spring, so I could ease him into the reality that a sailboat is a collection of systems, all requiring maintenance, and that you have to pay attention to details.
It's tough maintaining a boat 2 hours away. You have to plan multiple jobs, because if you forget a tool or something else, it's either postpone it or buy it locally, but you have to go on to the next job..
To compensate, it's a lovely area down there, and the yard and boat people are always nice. Even the people on Rt 9W are nice by letting you make left turns across the lane craziness of that highway.
However, he doesn't get the benefit (at least directly) of a Catalina Mainsheet and super organization like the Cat-27 list. His list is moribund.
Next time I'm down there I'll stop and look at your boat so we'll recognize it on the water.Harvey Rosenberg C-27TR #6023,1985, M-18, "Kalaurel", Stony Point, NY
