Bill,

Welding a polyethylene diesel fuel tank would either be a skill you already have or beyond what you could acquire for less than the cost of a new tank.

If it comes out of the boat easily consider contacting the manufacturer regarding repair. I’ve always thought I’d try hot glue on a water tank but a diesel tank still in use would be had to consider perfectly clean.

When you exhausted all reasonable approaches, try a pan head screw with Permatex sealant under the head. If you have access via cleanout use a machine screw fender washers and some gasket material from an auto parts store sealed with Permatex.

I doubt if the USCG will accept any repair so consider it temporary.

Subject: Re: catalina27-talk: fixing poly tank

Slightly off topic, but so much knowledge here.  Anyone know how to fix a small punture in a polyethylene diesel fuel tank?  Can it be done? Size of an ice pick.
Any suggestions welcome.
