As a quick fix.  I bought two insulated shopping bags and put them 
over top of all the food in the ice box.  It helps insulate the top and 
as I use the food it keeps the cold lower in the ice box. 

Actually come to think of it ...they've been there for two years, so I 
guess for me it's more of a long term fix.
