Phil, why not just add a barbed T below the water strainer. We recently
talked about doing just that here on the list.

And why $40 for anti-freeze? I usually buy two gallons, but the second isn't
really needed so I pour it into the bilge.

Pull out day is tomorrow so I picked up my usual $40 worth of anti-freeze
today. The forecast tonight is for 28?-30?F but it will be a little warmer in
the water.

Every year I’ve been cutting off my raw water inlet hose to dip it in the
anti-freeze jug. Last year I had to replace it, so 10 seasons before it was too
short. This year I plan to bore a hole through my raw water strainer bowl and
attach a ?” barb fitting and replace the bowl in the spring. ?
