Ralph -

Please do not think I have anything but respect for what the Boyles started.
I gladly join as a Sail Perks member when asked in the hey day of Sailnet.

But I do seem to remember Sailnet (don't remember under who's ownership)
asking for an annual fee, but again, my memory may be mistaken.

BUT when a friend of mine got charged the entire amount for a VERY LARGE
rigging order and only received part of the order, the store shuts down
abruptly, he was never able to get anyone to answer the phone, email,
whatever. And
even when the store reopened they did not complete the order.

I call BS on that. That is what my references are to. I have never said
anything to disparage the Boyles but the current management of Sailnet.

I for one will not add content to their site (i.e. the email lists). And I
do believe that while the email lists are a tremendous asset for the users it
is also a very inexpensive way for web based business to increase traffic and
content. So it goes both ways.
