You mention your loos gauge settings for a new Pentex geni.  Did you use the
same settings for a Dacron geni?

  I'm really quite pleased with the settings that I have on Wyanokee, a
standard C-27 (1986).  The forward shrouds are set at 25 Professional Loos
Gauge; the uppers are at 35; and the after shrouds are at 30.  I have the
standard back stay adjustment that sets the tension in the forestay (Harken
furler) and rake that I estimate to be at least 4" to 5" pulled taught.  The
rig is nicely balanced with only slight weather helm in the 10 to 12 range
using a new Pope 155% Pentex genoa and new Pope Dacron Main.  I use the
Garhauer vang as well.  I have the standard Catalina traveller with a 4 to 1
main sheet center boom adjustment.
