Patrick,

This is a subject that pops up every year of so.
It has even caused a few Flames in the past. There have been discussions about 
Mast Head rigs, Fractionals and stress on Stays..  etc, etc,
I'm not going to even begin to get into the Physics and Engineering often 
quoted (or mis-quoted)
The quick answer is...

Sail.... ANY DAMN... way you want to !

PS: Answering your  question "Do you"......Yes, I do sail with Genoa only, With 
Asym only, Hardly ever with Main only...
