That's always the case when you buy a new condition specific sail.
It happened to me with a whole boat. I bought a Soverel 33 (light air rocket) and for the first time in the recorded history of Galveston Bay, we went a whole summer with no light air regattas! Mark, "Gratis" (6115) and others

HAH! me too, bought the Evelyn 32-2 http://www.nbayracing.com/evelynPage.htm and every wednesday a wicked convection breeze would pipe up! start at 15-16 and build into the 20's all evening. I thought, "what the heck I buy this thing for? Should've bought a Valiant or something."

never fails.

Then the next year I took it to Screwpile (big regatta on the Ches) and had a newish Heavy number 1, a newish 2, a brand spanking new 3 and of course, it never blew over 8 kn and I had to use the crappiest sail in my inventory all weekend, a
ragged-out Quantum Light #1.

Life is just so unfair.
