On my '84....All panel switches have "Push On" connectors (sometimes called
Disconnects) Very common in 12 volt applications, boats and cars.
They just slide on and off.. (You may have to Tug on a few)..
If you replace them.. Please use a proper Crimp tool. the ratcheting kind.
And, as has been discussed here, if possible use the adhesive type and cover
with adhesive shrink tube.

I have a short somewhere along my Navigation lights circuit. If I can find
it using a continuity tester, I will need to replace the entire wire.
How do you detach and re-attach the 18 (or 16) AWG wire from the back of
the switch in the electrical Cabinet? It appears the wire goes into some
kind of connector that appears to be part of the switch. IS this so?
Also, what tools would I need?
