One of the fellows with a 74 C27 like mine went with a custom made bracket.

Pictures don't really do it justice. It actually works pretty well but I'm 
hanging onto my old Johnson 9.9 2 cycle as it weighs a lot less than a 4 stroke 
and as a racer...every kilo counts.
