Standing rigging is so inexpensive through Seco South I wouldn't have him bend
the 7 year rule unless he was sure it was a freshwater boat.

Even then he should do the gloved hand with tissue paper wipe down inspection.
Any fractured strands will snag the tissue paper giving an indication of a
serious problem. Any broken strand will skew him like a fish if he's not
wearing protective gloves.

At the same time we should talk about the suitability of a C22 for the waters
he intends to sail. A older C22, like the C27, was never CE rated but it would
be reasonable to think that it is no better than the newer improved version C22
which is CE category D.

Standing and Running rigging are both light you may want tom check for ware.
it would be the same as any boat for what you would pay attention to but I'm
sure if it is in good condition or at least reasonable they will enjoy it good
little boats.

I think I've found a Catalina 22 on Craigslist for a friend of mine.
Anyone have an idea of hot spots to look at when checking it out? The
swing-keel mechanism obviously comes to mind. Anything else?
