I have an old Hood furler that has served me well, but I would not have another
one because their customer service is terrible. If I were to replace it, I
would go with a Harken or Schaffer. Both have a good and simple design that
allows for do-it-yourself installation and maintenance. Personally, I don't
like the internal halyard design of the CDI, but many swear by them and they
are the least expensive.
