I use the smallest one that WM sells (I forget the specs) as a maintenance
charger. It's so small there is no need to worry about a charge controller. It
didn't come with an in-line fuse, though, so I wired one in.

Speaking of battery chargers--Does anyone have recommendations for solar
chargers?

Rick, For the past three years I have been using a MinnKota on-board battery
charger - 2 banks, 5 amps perbank, 10 amps total. Installed it myself.
Verysimple. Has all the bells and whistles one needs. Ihave had very good luck
with their products and havebeen using their electric trolling motors for
years.Internet price around $100.00 and Minn Kota offers a$25.00 rebate.
