Check for leaks from windows and fittings. Also check for water coming in
from the companionway. I recently discovered water leaking under the
companionway boards -- too much stuff in the bow of the boat. Also check
for water
coming in from the transom area, such as from the exhaust fitting.

I am new to the Catalina owners club and as I recently purchased a 1986 27ft
Tall Rig to sail out of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Over all very good condition,
new head sail, low hours on the Universal, and very clean.

I am perplexed by how 3 fingers of water gets into the bilge within 24
hours. My stuffing box is barely dripping and thru hulls are closed... Any
thoughts?

Also, If were to purchase a new main sail, what is the recommendation for
cloth weight, batons and price and where to purchase?
