SD cards are not like magnetic stripes on the back of credit cards and so
forth.  They're a version of electronic memory that holds its state when
power is off, so a magnet affects it no more than it would affect a
transistor radio.  However, SD cards and other memory cards that use Flash
memory ARE potentially affected by large bursts of electromagnetic
interference-like a nearby lightning strike, or a static electricity
discharge.
