I would bet that it's the moth balls that are keeping the insects out, not the Bounce. Keeping insects away (or dead) is what they are designed to do.

At the risk of being seen as a scold (don't run with that pencil or you'll poke your eye out), I would be very careful when using moth balls inside a boat. There is increasing concern about the inhalation hazard from them (The box says "avoid prolonged breathing of vapors"), as well as their attractiveness as "candy" to kids. Plus, moth balls ruin the flavor of good cigars.

Well, snopes not withstanding, the guy down the dock told me to put bounce sheets and moth balls in my cabin and it would keep the wasps and spiders out. The outside may get covered with cobwebs, but the inside's fine.

Needs a good airing out before you can sleep though  :-)
