Unfortunately many problems are experienced in both fleets due to the quick
turnaround times, many times same day.

The larger bases such as Tortola (I think Sunsail and the Moorings are now in
the same location) seem to have fewer problems per boat as they have more and
more qualified staff working those bases.

One of the great things about Tortola is it is almost all line of sight
sailing. The Charts are easy to read and there are mooring balls everywhere.

Catamarans are great for bareboating as you are not too concerned about
performance and there is a ton of room. Sunsail used to have the Lagoon 41's
that
have 4 "staterooms" (cabin and head for each cabin). Plenty of room for 4
couples and makes for a great party boat. That trip we usually did day trips
on shore and almost always had dinner as a group on the boat.

As for must sees, the North Sound of Virgin Gorda is nice place to spend a
day (and home of the Bitter End Yacht Club). There is a small dockside
restaurant on the main land of Virgin Gorda. I think it is called Beyer Creek
called the Fat Virgin. Cheap beer and drinks and the best conch fritters ever.

The baths are really cool, but it is tough to get in by boat. You can't
leave a dink on the beach and the waves can be pretty treacherous.

Peter and Cooper Islands are nice. Roxy's is a great place, but pretty tame
during the day. Jost Van Dyke has some cool bars, but can get very crowded.

Just a few thoughts.
