Gosh.fresh water folks everywhere. I love the heavy cruiser comment. I'm
still a little bit in culture shock with this "heavy" boat thing. My last
boat was a nice shiny MacGregor 26X which I felt was reasonably fast: with a
higher hull speed than the C27's but I'm pretty sure that I can sail circles
around that boat with my thirty year old C27 even though it weighs nearly
three times as much as the Mac. A lot of sail and a tall rig is a beautiful
thing!!!

I've only seen a couple of other C27's here but then most of those 300 - 400
sailboats in marinas here stay locked up all the time and rarely seem to
have their sails raised.

Michigan-it's a Great Lake to sail on, isn't it?

We're just down the shoreline in Racine-or almost; just not there at the
moment because we're turning a light C27 into a heavy cruiser, just to make
sure we don't ever beat anybody racing.

I second the part about coastal owners being the most vocal, but that is a
lot of the fun of this list.

We have 5 C27's on my dock in Milwaukee alone, and I know of several more in
other parts of the marina. Lots of them on Lake Michigan as a whole as
well!

Nah, they're just the most vocal!

There are about three of us who sail on Lake St. Clair (MI) and at least one
just north of us on Lake Huron.

Many lake people on the list
