Bob, I’ll assume you were using the appellation ‘idiot’ just to be lighthearted and joke about the problem that resulted because you didn’t train the bowman sufficiently or advise him/her correctly. So I’m not going to give you a hard time about that. But I’ll suggest you take your pole to a millwright service if you can find one around, and failing that, try to find a driveshaft shop in the Yellow Pages. Either one can help you straighten a tube properly, provided you don’t have a kink. If you do have a kinky pole, follow the advice below.
