It depends more on thr brand of compass that you have but should be fairly 
streight forward on most bulkhead mounted compass's you will have to remove the 
comapass to get the uper shroud off to replace the light. most marine supply 
shops will know where to go to get the bulb. I would before trying to reolace 
the bulb test the current see if it is getting any electric, they place these 
in areas where wires can rot nature of the beast I guess.

I just noticed last night that the light on my bulkhead compass is not coming 
on. I have a plastic cover on the inside of the bulkhead so I cannot see the 
back of the compass.  Is this a trivial thing to fix?
